AbstractA German university is looking for SME partners for application of innovative materials instead of steel for power generation. They plan to expand their activities in combining different production steps for iron-aluminides. The aim of the project is to establish a process chain for iron aluminides including casting, forming and machining.DetailsThe research material can be used for the application in high temperature areas because of their specific properties. Besides the excellent material characteristics it offers also low raw material costs in comparison to high alloyed steels, nickel based alloys and titan aluminides. The objectives of the project are :1) to develop a process chain for innovative iron aluminides; 2) to generate basic understanding of the interdependencies among material properties, finishing process, and component quality; 3) finishing of iron aluminide components for industrial application. Industry partners should propose an application for iron aluminides in form of a demonstrator. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: Information on the call: FP7 - Cooperation - Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials & new production technologies Call identifier: FP7-NMP-2012-SMALL-6 Topic: NMP.2012.2.2-3 Advanced materials for high temperature power generation Deadline first stage: 8 November 2011 Proposal development stage: in preparation Requested EU-Funding: 3,5 Mio. € Percentage of EU-funding: for RTD-activities up to 75% of total project costs Consortium description: 5 university project partners and 3-5 industry project partners Partner will be responsible for finding and demonstrating application for/of innovative material, descibed under "description of the request".
