AbstractA small Serbian company developed a device for purification of drinking water and industrial waste water. Advantages over convetional devices include use of electrochemical energy for performing the process of purifying water instead of the required chemicals, require less space and average cost is 1 kWh/m3 of purified water. The company seeks for industrial partners interested in further co-development and companies interested in industrial franchise.DetailsPhysicochemical device for water purification of groundwater, surface water and industrial waste water containing organic matter, oil, grease and metal works on principles of selective ion electrochemical potentials in the galvanic interface (specially designed electrodes using DC voltage 6.0 to 65 V).The mechanism of purification is destabilization of stable solution containing impurities, their coagulation and flocculation. After those processes the separation of sediment deposition or shunt in the flotation process is performed, depending on the characteristics of sediment. By the same procedure metals and nonmetals are separated in Oxidoreductive processes, as well as toxic and carcinogenic substances. The procedure is based on the creation of a large number of compounds that create mesh forms of active ions from the electrodes, which have ability to absorb large number of chemical pollutants present in polluted water. Floccules formed and precipitates are removed in processes of sedimentation or flotation by automatic shunt. On the end of process is performed drying, pressing and safe disposal of residues. Technological process includes the processes of electrodepositing on metal cathode and electro coagulation of gross and fine contamination crumb that causes color and cloudiness of water. Ions that are produced by special anodes carry out flocculation crumb that are deposited. Oil and grease from water, suspended salts, metals, silicates, clay suspension, nitrites, toxic and carcinogenic substances are separated effectively. Also, it is suitable method for the disposal and destruction of algae and microorganisms from water intended for drinking. It is also suitable for textile waste water treatment, petroleum, chemical and food industries. Innovative Aspects: Applied technology of electrochemical purification is based on abstraction dirty parts using selectively electrode (anoda and cathode). Hereby herself effectively to set apart from steady solution overboard metal, oil, fats, petroleum deriveds, organic and inorganic compound, bacterium and alges. Use of electrochemical energy for performing the process of purifying water instead of the required chemicals, require less space and average cost is 1 kWh/m3 of purified water. Economy of installation and maintenance (use 10 times less space then alike technology), duration of electrode is about 3 years, the cost of electricity consumption is small - purification efficiency is high, due roadstead are 8 times lesser from alike technology.
