AbstractAn international consortia managed by an Estonia SME is preparing a proposal to the upcoming CIP call for developing applications for personalized digital content access solution developed during a previous FP7 project for museum visitors. The cultural heritage content is made available to the visitor through a personal smartphone. The consortium is looking for an additional partner with access to cultural heritage content for further testing of the solution.DetailsA previous EU 7th Framework Programme project aimed at developing personalized digital content access solution for museum visitors has been successfully completed by the consortium, who is now looking to develop novel smartphone applications of the solution for commercialization.The goal is to deploy personalized recommendation and content selection Web based service for smartphones were a tourist can create its profile reflecting his/her specific interests and get specific cultural and travel related information from different content sources – Europeana database, local museums and other content providers, Wikipedia and national tourism websites. The developed system is foreseen to be able to recommend indoor artifacts or outdoor objects based on user explicit preferences or previous experiences. Additionally, the system can suggest the most appropriate content based on user expertise information and preferences of similar users. The consortium is looking for an additional test region (large city, touristic county) and content provider to be included as a partner in the project. The additional partner should have an access to digital cultural content of the region (e.g. databases of important museums; content describing historic outdoor areas, nature treasures, local legends, etc.). Potential candidates are Europeana database content local aggregators, museum associations, city/county tourism authorities. The already agreed test sites are Tuscany region in Italy, Malta, North-Estonia.
