AbstractA German SME has developed innovative elastic and finest spacer fabrics. They are breathable, promote the transport of moisture away from the human skin to the outside of textiles and have a cushioning effect. The spacer fabrics are particularly suitable for the production of technical textiles, like medical stockings and bandages, safety vests, protective clothing and gloves. The innovation is patented. Partners are sought to integrate these fabrics in the production of clothing.DetailsThe German company is a producer of elastic fabrics, intended for the making-up of various textiles, for example corsages and functional textiles. Its product range encompasses jacquard fabrics, finest single jerseys interlock- and spacer fabrics. New designs for the own jacquard machines are continuously developed. Diverse types of chemical fibres are processed in this SME as well as silk, cotton and composites. The majority of knitted fabrics are suitable for the process of thermal deformation (molding) which takes place at high temperatures between 180 and 200°C. The latest developments of this German SME are finest and elastic spacer fabrics. These textiles mostly consist of polyester/ Lycra- composites, polyamide and cotton. These fabrics are manufactured with fine machine gauges- this circumstance requires the usage of very fine yarns. The usage of these fine yarns is the reason why the textiles feel pleasant next to the skin and exhibit a very comfortable grasp. In consequence of the molding-process these fabrics conserve their form, nevertheless these products are breathable and they support the transport of moisture. They are elastic but ensure a compression pressure, they have a cushioning effect and retard heat. Application examples are technical textiles like protective clothing, gloves, shoes, safety vests and medical textiles like bandages. Innovative Aspects: - Elastic and breathable fabrics. - Cushioning effect. - Retarding heat.
