Abstract

A Swedish SME in the renewable energy sector has developed a new hot air furnace fired by wood waste, pellets, and chips for heating of industrial and other buildings. Other applications are for example drying of grains, such as corn and wheat or drying of wood. The main advantage of this hot air furnace is the high efficiency, 92-96%. Partners are sought for commercial agreements, marketing, installation on site and technical consultancy.

Details

The hot air furnace is fired by wood pellets or chips for fast and inexpensive heating of industrial and other buildings. Hot air is produced straight from wood waste, wood pellets or grains without an expensive water-circulation system. Money, space and time are saved when fewer wood pellets are needed for heating. The furnace is mainly designed for lager buildings from 300 m2 – 6000 m2. Cold air in the building is circulated with a fan through the furnace and hot air distributed back by the ventilation system in the building.

Innovative Aspects:
The main advantage of this hot air furnace is the high efficiency, 92-96%. The reason for this high efficiency is the direct heating of the air in the building. Conventional boilers work by heating water which is then circulated in the building, and by this technology energy is lost in the system.
