AbstractA Russian company has developed a software for 3-dimensional electrical tomography of water, oil, gas and ore bearing deposits. The software reconstructs 3-dimensional physical field of media conductivity basing on the data of geophysical electrical measurements with the use of the method of electric field formation. The software owners seek partners (e.g., exploration and prospection companies) for technical cooperation.
DetailsWhen exploring water, oil and gas and ore-bearing deposits, there is a need for information support of geophysical and survey works. Electro-tomography of geological materials with use of the formation method realized in the software is one of the most up-to-date approaches in this field. Electro-tomography provides outlining the structure and dimensions of mineral deposits accurately and minutely without expensive preliminary drilling operations. Development of the software involved most up-to-date computing and geophysical technologies as well as an experience of prospection works in Western Siberia, Russia. The software solves a problem of electro-tomography basing on sequential calculation of non-stationary electromagnetic fields in complex three-dimensional conducting media. The software consists of an easy-to-use integrated software package with a powerful visual graphics interface and wide capabilities of interpreting computational results. The problem of electromagnetic field formation is solved by a method of vector finite elements applied to universal non-structured tetrahedral three-dimensional computational lattice. The version with an English interface is provided.
Innovative Aspects:
Advantages of the technology are based on novel components of software. There is no similar software on the market that implements three-dimensional electrical tomography. The developed software calculates polarization of the media for the first time. It is very important for ore-bearing deposits as well as for hard to survey clay oil and gas collectors which make a large share in the practice of survey operations.
The software provides three-dimensional pattern of a deposit in a form of graphic images (tomograms) which are built without carrying out expensive preliminary drilling works. The software uses results of exclusively inexpensive superficial geophysical electrical measuring works. This reduces manifold the expenses on exploration geological and geophysical works. The main advantage of the software is the accuracy of the results provided at comparatively low expenses.
